of Paul Schrader's classic entitled, "Hardcore" starring George C. Scott from 1979. Check out this plot outline, sound familiar: "A conservative Midwest businessman ventures into the sordid underworld of pornography in California to look for his runaway teenage daughter whom is making porno films in the porno pits of Los Angeles. "

What a rip off of the Scrhrader/Scott classic. It is funny to note and to Carrie Fishers delight a there are a few references to Star Wars...watch and see, you won't belive your eyes.

Uh, I've just seen the movie, and I didn't catch any Star Wars-references.. none obvious at least.

And the plot-part, c'mon.. it's not a remake, it's like saying Goodfellas is a remake of Godfather.. they share similar plot-points and certain characters look alike, but it's a completely different movie!

It'd be a remake of Hardcore only if the Trish Van Devere/Ronny Cox plotline were 90% of the movie AND if we never get to know Van Devere's daughter . . . . but it's not, and we do . . . . therefore it's not a remake/ripoff.
