Poor Hannah

Why does everyone sh*t all over Hannah? She is the only one who isn't a neurotic mess? Just because she doesn't make any messes for people to clean up after, she doesn't have any needs? I really like this movie, but I always feel sorry for Hannah.

I did to, having one sister sleeping with her husband for that long and being used by the other one. But they all seemed to find the right person in the end.

Yeah - I didn't find her overly controlling - she didn't call on people for help all the time but she definitely had needs and they were just too wrapped up in their own issues to notice hers

reply

Yes. Her expression when she realises her husband had been having an affair with her sister is the strongest moment in the film. Yet she obviously kept it to herself and the marriage survived, but burried somewhere inside must be the hurt. Not a big fan of Mia Farrow but I thought she was very good in this film.

She never realized.

I beg to differ. There was a moment when I believe we were supposed to understand that she'd made the connection. The shock registered in her face but she just carried on. Possibly if Farrow's relationship with Allan had continued there might have been Hannah 2, where her anger finally surfaces and she take bloody, but witty, revenge.
