Montage! Montage!

This movie has like 17 musical montages. Even for an 80s movie, that's a lot.

Yeah, ain't that the truth! I just watched this for the first time in many years, and I never realized there were so many goddamn montages.

You're right! The '80s were definitely the decade of the musical montage. Well, actually, the '70s had a lot of them too.

Yeah, it felt like a huge portion of the movie was stock footage set to cheesy music... Maybe one or two of those is normal, but man they pushed it.

"Behind every bold man, is a smart woman"

I'm not sure exactly what that means, but is it similar to:

"Behind every horny woman, is a hard man" ?

hahah, montages are great..for filmmakers that is......they accelerate the narrative full steam ahead!

As WarpedRecord said, "the 80's were the decade of the montage". Part of the MTV generation, I guess?

You only ever see montages in films nowdays, if its a parody like Team America.

You wanna make love to me, because I drive a monster and wear this costume?

Yeah.

I can now never see a montage and not think of "Team America: World Police" with their montage scene + song sequence!

With a saxophone. Can’t have an ‘80s montage without saxophone solo.
