i liked all of the characters, except...

Valerie's friends.

Okay, it's not that I dislike Christine Ebersole's character. It's just that it didn't contribute anything. I can't remember any funny or spectacular moments from her. She was just there for the first 10 episodes, and then was gone.

But that Annie Steck character, oh my God, she grated my nerves. I winced and cringed every time she opens her mouth. And then that time she approved Mrs. Poole being the understudy, and then when the original actress gets sick, she still won't let Mrs. Poole on, even though she turned out to be really good. Annie went back on her own word, and then tried to get Valerie to do her dirty work for her by telling Mrs. Poole she wasn't going on. Hated, HATED that character.

And I love Mrs. Poole the neighbor, and her husband Willard Scott. I also love how Rich calls David "Hoagie". That is cute.

Hated the twins they were pointless...do not look like either of the parents. Well, they don't. Maybe a distant relative from either side of the family. They should have died off with the mom.

But the dad and older brother were both hot enough to carry the show on their own. What on earth would have been wrong with the two of them dating around??

Today one of David's friends would have been gay. Probably Rich.

possibly. Rich (the character) died of AIDS.

Did not remember Annie Steck the first time around. Figured out why she was dropped in favor of Mrs. Poole. Why on earth was she even cast in the first place....meh!!

Yes I love Mrs. Poole too. Had a roommate in college who was EXACTLY like her. I was watching the episodes when Mrs. Poole first came on and it clicked. I saw these eps before I went off to college but she could easily win a Mrs. Poole impersonation contest hands down!!
