Tom Cruise's performance was completley unimpressive and uninteresting in this movie

There was nothing legendary about about Tom Cruise's very generic and soap opera level of acting in this movie....good thing his acting chops got better as he got older. Tim Curry's outstanding performance as Lord Darkness and Ridley Scott's amazing 1985 visuals saved this movie from becoming a complete waste of time.

I mean it's not Oscar worthy, but I think Cruise does a decent job playing a young and naive kid and it never bothered me.

Have you seen Scorsese's "The Color Of Money," from what I remember Cruise filmed that around the same time, and that's an impressive performance. His acting was also memorable in the movie "Risky Business" which came out a year or two prior to "Legend."

Agreed, Tim Curry is absolutely awesome as Darkness. Also worthy of praise is the sound design and Jerry Goldsmith's beautiful music score.

I'm a huge Cruise fanboy, but Legend is probably the only movie of his I don't own on disc, and I don't really want it either. Never cared for this one.
