I haven't seen the movie in awhile, and recently only saw the heavily edited TV version. Was it ever explained why Rick had gone to so many schools?

Does make you wonder why his mom needed to move them around so much. We know Rick's dad died so maybe his mom just became restless after that and couldn't bear to stay in one place long.

shareIn the '50s and '60s my dad was a radio DJ. He'd send audition tapes to stations all over, and when he'd get hired by one, off we'd go. By the time I was in high school we had lived in sixteen different places, and I had gone to ten different schools. So it really does happen.
