I just love the rainy cloudy atmosphere that occupies the beginning of this flick. I realize this is a minor and petty gripe, but I wish more movies had rainy scenes like this. It seems like a majority of big movies today just have scenes that place in broad daylight or nighttime. There is no in between. Then again, I just like rainy weather.

It also has a kind of sleepy quality to it, you kind of feel cozy hanging out with the Goonies at Mikey' s house.

Thats odd. I prefer movies shown in a bright sunny day

There's lot of movies with rainy scenes but it's mostly horror types I think.

The rainy gloomy atmosphere really helped set the tone. When they are in the attic and found the map with the thunder and lighting - it’s just great.

Movies like this don’t get made anymore
