The evil troll? The cigarette hallucinations? Was this supposed to scare people, or is it a horror spoof?

This movie is the funniest movie i have ever seen. I die when i see it. The troll... the children smoking, "fiddlesticks," "i love norma jean..." The movie is pure brillance.

It's a horror/comedy, they don't seem to make them nowadays - there was a lot in the 80s

I remembered seeing this back when it came on tv in the 80s. I loved James Woods' facial expressions and also when the man from Quitters, Inc was dancing down the staircase singing, "Every Breath You Take!"

I wouldn't call this a horror spoof. The troll is probably the only family horror element to it. The majority of it came across to me like a comedy thriller. I found the first segment the funniest of the three.
