Harry Tuttle was just Sams figment of imagination

I have a theory that he was all made up by Sam. Harry always appear out of nowhere and just dissappears. Im thinking Harry represented Sams ideal version of himself. He wanted to be a Harry so he created that character for himself.

I dont think so but good idea, i disagree because other characters acknowledged the fact he existed. Like the repairmen.

I thought that, which then immediately think Fight Club had ripped off Brazil entirely!

I entertained the possibility of your theory for about one and half seconds, before I remembered the valve bypass doohickey Tuttle installed in Sam's ducts, which the repairmen later found. He was real.

That said, the entire movie is extremely surreal and dreamlike. Everyone in it is a blatant figment, more so than in most other works of fiction.

The second time he takes off like batman...Jill asks Sam, who is he!?....which proves he wasn't a figment of imagination.
