Good thing the sheriff was a moron...

along with all his cronies. Otherwise, he might have realized he could just unhook the cable from the tank. Whoops.

That's okay, though, because if there is something finer than a fine woman shootin' a ma deuce, damned if I know what it could be.

And "pussy communist" just happens to be the most hilariously misspoken insult ever.

Last drink: Gentleman Jack Whiskey, "Goes Down Smooth". 10/10. Good stuff.

LOL, I just watched it on cable and was thinking the exact same thing.

Or better yet. When they were driving in the mud heading to the border and they missed with the anti-tank rocket. Sarah could have used the 50 cal. to keep the sheriff and his men pinned down, while they drove across the border.

You bring up a very good point man!

You are lucky that you got the opportunity to watch on cable. Man I wished that AMC would have stuck with their plans because I am sure we would be watching movies from the 20's on up to the 90's now. No one dhows movies like this anymore on TV.

It's hard to unhook a steel cable under tension. Granted it would be possible, but it would not have been easy or quick. Even tho it seemed like there was some slack here and there it was over several hundred feet. At the business end it would have been very hard to unhook with all those people pulling on it.

reply

I just caught this on Netflix. They could have easily unhooked it after everyone stopped pulling on it and the Sheriff climbs on top of the tank. It still could be explained that they didn't see the bulldozer and already knew the people pulling on the cable couldn't move it. They just didn't bother to unhook it.

reply

They weren't thinking about it at the time.

reply

You are correct about that!

Yes Sarah could have been shot but she was not though. Once the bulldozer started pulling the tank you could not unlatch it or unhook it. Yeah that was a hilarilious line in the movie. Pussy communist! LOL

See that is what I loved about being able to grow up in the 70's and 80's as a kid and teenager. I miss those days when everything was not "Politically Correct".

Hear hear! While I think our society made a lot of necessary progress in the goody-goody '90s, our pop culture definitely suffered, and I doubt it will ever recover.
