Should I Not Bother With Blu Ray?

Should I not bother with buying the blu ray edition? I ask this because I have heard the transfer leaves a lot to be desired.

I have the Blu-Ray version, though only recommend getting it if you don't already have the movie on DVD, or really want to see the Silent Night remake.

Well, as I don't have the DVD version, I may buy the Blu Ray. Just as long as this Blu Ray is of reasonable clear quality, I suppose that's OK by me.

The quality is good, but for some reason, there are scene in the movie they are randomly VHS quality. But that's only like 10% of the movie.

I know that there are occasional picture quality drops due to the SD inserts in order to facilitate an unrated version, but as a person who has seen his share of cobbled together unrated versions of films using various sources, the picture occasionally switching from HD to SD quality really doesn't bother me.

but see this is why a real fan would own or soon own the VHS version of this film. the reason why is because when you watch the VHS version you don't have the drop in quality going from rated film remastered or restored or both scenes to unrated not restored or remastered or both scenes.
