Why so little interest?

I really like this film. It's not without its flaws, but the animation was extraordinary for its time (1984). Lensman along with Robot Carnival deserves a lot more notice on IMDB. Even Vampire Hunter D gets a lot more notice than this.

It's the sad state of anime today. Don't get me wrong, there are some fantastic shows that rightly deserve release, but older stuff like Lensman (and Ideon, Gundam, Yamato etc) gets ignored. It doesn't, or they think it doesn't, sell as well as newer shows.

Hey, I keep searching for the Lensman movie but no luck...
All i find is the VHS on Amazon, but it is on NTSC format only!
Can I use such a videotape in my VCR (it is European, I live in Greece).
PLEASE, you'll be helping me out A LOT if you can just tell me a source for the videotape or if you know wether it will work on my VCR, by sending me an e-mail here:

A trillion thanxs to all who answer!!
And i really think this one deserves publishing!

I've been wanting to see this movie again for years!!!
I think the whole series is one of the best... I have bought all 6 books.

The hand-drawn animation was good and holds up well but the CGI portions, while innovative for the time, now look quite dated. Also the plot was derivative in the extreme. I doubt there would be much financial return from a dvd release. The best bet is that it will get picked up by one of the many anime streaming services that have sprung up since your original post.
