Danny not following her makes no sense

So, I can't understand what the 'arrangement' was - either to meet at the airport, in which case her trying to get to Cartagena makes no sense, or to meet in Cartagena, in which case Danny trying to meet her at the airport makes no sense.

In any case, after Danny realizes 'she's on the wrong bus!'...

(although she's IN the bus, not ON it, but that's english language for ya.. you get 'on' an airplane, bus, etc. even though you actually go inside. I think this is because it's thought of as using a ROUTE or something, so basically you travel 'on the route', but I am not sure)..

...why doesn't Danny hop into his car and follow the bus?

Please don't give me any excuse about 'no time' or 'he lost the bus in the crowd' or something, because here are the counter-arguments:

1) The bus is slow. It's an extremely slow bus anyway, being super old tech, but it's also slow because it has to keep stopping and letting people in and out. It is also show to be extremely slow, so there's basically no excuse.

2) Danny KNOWS it's the wrong bus, so he also must know where the bus is heading (how else would he know it's the wrong bus?), so he could just travel there ahead of time, or at least use the same route the bus is taking.

Why doesn't he even try to follow the bus?

This whole 'Danny is supposed to meet her, but NEVER, ever does, even though he has like 200 opportunities to'-stuff just frustrates me to no end. In the village, he's trying to STEAL the map even though he's ENTITLED to it, because it's exactly him that they're trying to bring the map to. Just walk up to them, say hi, ask for the map, then call your bro and tell him to let the sister go, problem solved. WHy the ..

In any case, the other scene is where Danny arrives to STEAL the stone, although, again, he's entitled to it, or at least the map, so he could ask for the stone and then tell his bro to let the sister go and so on.

Why doesn't he EVER do this?? It makes no sense, he's SUPPOSED TO MEET HER! She is SUPPOSED to meet him! Yet he keeps trying some weird robber-ninja tactics instead of just going up to her and completing the transaction so everyone can go home!

This character makes no sense, why is he acting so stupidly and weirdly?!

P.S. OK, I realized now that he SORT OF follows the bus, but why the heck would he be SO FAR behind that even after Zolo runs a long time, he's still only arriving at his location - long after the bus had crashed and the gunfire exchange had taken place. HOW can anyone be that far away from an extremely slow bus they're supposedly trying to follow? So my point still stands. He's so far behind that I never even realized he's actually 'following' the bus... talk about incompetence! I could follow that bus on foot and probably still be ahead of it pretty soon..
