A very underrated film of the 1980's.

"Grandview, U.S.A." is a film that really is an awesome movie.A great cast like Patrick Swayze,Jamie Lee Curtis, and C. Thomas Howell, the supporting cast include Jennifer Jason-Leigh,Carole Cook,Ramon Bieri,Troy Donahue, and William Windom. This movie should have got more respect than it did.I think the story is great and the characters were developed really well, especially how Tim Pearson(played by C. Thomas Howell) tells his father about what he wants to do.The movie shows about people that have dreams and end up making them a reality and the hardships of a small business,a woman like Michelle "Mike" Cody(played by Jamie Lee Curtis) that will do anything to keep the Speedway opened.

"Grandview, U.S.A." really showed how real life sutuations can be bad and be good.I think this movie is one of the underrated films of the 1980's.

I was up in Pontiac,Illinois when the movie was being filmed,I was staying at my aunt's house there and I got to see some of the filming,it was a treat.

Look for my Grandview USA review on that page.

I agree...very underrated. Great cast and good ole' fun. I mean come on Patrick Swayze, Jamie Lee, C. Thomas Howell, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and a small role from John Cusack and his sister Joan.

I love this movie, it's amazing in fact today it was just on.

it's amazing that it was just on tv or it's an amazing film?

It's underrated. However, I grew up in Pontiac, and I have considerable bias. Sure glad it's showing up on The Movie Channel's High Definition list.

This is *beep* even Jamie Lee Said it was the second worse film she has ever been in.

Why do people always say that about bad movies?

I saw this in the theater. When I came out I told the people I was with that they had to see it. I even paid all of us to see it again. The casher was wondering why EVERYONE who had just seen the film went and bought tickets to see it again ! She never saw that happen before. This is one of my very favorites !Not to be missed !

Wish I could've seen it back in '84!

so beautiful, your story. i love how we have these special memories of movies. you see, movies are a great connector to human life. everyone loves movies of some kind. what is beautiful is every movie that you watch with another person has a life story if you can remember the memory. you can connect great memories with people with movies. and not just watching a movie with someone but also people talking about movies memories. i love to remember something someone close to me said about a movie and then when i watch the movie for the first time the movie is special to me because of this memory.
