Jump back

At one point Rent says “Jump Back” to the cowboy dude. Was this a common expression in the ‘80s or did Rent say that so as not to offend the Amish? What is the modern day equivalent of this expression? “No effin’ way” ?

I had never heard it before either, but in the context of the scene that's the way I got it.

I have heard "Get back" but I guess they thought "Jump back sounded more rock n' roll? In any case "get fucked" or "no fucking way" etc was probably to harsh for the rating they were hoping for.
