I watched this long before Star Wars as a 6 year old kid. In fact I would not even hear anything about star wars until years later when I was beyond shocked to see the Ewoks in Return of the Jedi. That said I recently re-watched this and I now think this is right up there with Mac and Me with shows that seemed great but suck once yo mature a bit

shareAs a 28-year-old male, I still enjoy this movie and its sequel. I'm sure nostalgia play a large factor in that, but these movies are simply goofy and light-hearted fun. I found the 80's to contain plenty of charming little fantasy films.

If I'd seen it when I was five or six I would have loved it.
At around 11 I was already critical enough to know this was not so great.
I hated it as a kid and never would watch it as an adult. I guess I'm superior to you in smartliness, loser.
