I WAS AN EXTRA IN THIS MOVIE

In June 1983 I was an extra in this movie. I was in the start of the race scenes which was filmed in Tucson, Arizona. Yeah, I can see myself in the movie. Those that say this movie sucked are right in my opinion. You couldn't even talk to Burt renolds during breaks or you would be fired. Dom DeLouise however was a really nice guy. During breaks he would come over and talk to the extras saying things like "Hi I'm Dom, I'm in this movie too...Isn't this fun?" Like we didn't know who he was. The food was great though and I got $100 for 2 days work....

My grandfather and my mom (from Chandler, AZ) where extras in this movie also. They were around when they where going to do the stunt in the begining of the movie. Heard it was fun to do and they got more money than for Used Cars(in Mesa,AZ).

Used Cars was one of my all time favorit comedies. I would have really enjoyed being in that. What a classic!

Yeah I liked USED CARS too with Kurt Russell, hes been acting for a LOOOOONG time in almost every decade of his birth lol. I wish I could be an extra but they dont film too many movies in my small area of New Mexico tho lol. It would be nice tho. ANyone know how to get into it or what it takes?

Well I never thought that they would ever film a movie in my hometown of Decatur, Illinois but they did this year. The movie is called The Informant with Matt Damon and Scott Bakula.

It is based on real events that happened in Decatur back in 1994. So I was shocked to find out about that.

I was in this movie by accident. I just had finished my shift at 7.00am and was leaving work at Amphitheater High School in Tucson arizona and went towards the corner of Oracle road and ft. Lowell roads. There were filming a sequence there that was at the start of the movie. I got caught in traffice for awile has I recall.

mcavendish...How funny. I went to Amphi @ the time and my dad ran National Car Rental In Tucson. All of the cars that were used in the film (regular cars that get passed) were rented from my dad. In order for him to get the deal he had to provide 2 corvettes. One for Sammie and one for Dean. The scene you are reffering to on Oracle and Ft Lowell was shot right in front of one of the National Car Rental offices and I was there that day. It is funny to watch becuase all of the cars were going like 10 miles an hour and the Mitsubishi was going like 35 with a small flame coming out of the back. In the film the must have trippled the speed becuase it looks like the are flying. I was 14 and when the filming finished he drove Dean Martins Corvette for a long time and actually tought me how to drive on that car.

you were an extra and you didn't know who Dom DeLouise is? i can't believe how Burt Reynolds slaps and hits Dom DeLouise when you see the "behind the scenes". Those hits must have really hurt, and what an insult. but you can see the whole crew laughing with Reynolds except.. i think it was actor Jack Elam, who looks kind of suprised at Reynolds behavior.

I've seen it all, i've had fun, adventure, and some real life drama,
but all i ever really craved in this world was your attention, mama

PeterBlues, he didn't say he didn't know who Dom Delouise is. He said 'like we didn't know who he was'. I dunno if u r not English speaking, but using the word 'like' at the start of a sentence is a sarcasm, meaning of course he knew who he was! Dom Delouise was just having fun making out he was just a normal actor.
Anyway, i love this film. If you don't take it too seriously it's just a good fun film. I love seeing all the actors looking so young, especially Jackie Chan. Sammy Davis jnr is great, he was a really funny guy.

Since you were an extra could you remember who the actor is that is playing the young boy that the two hot girls (Bach and Anton) promise a night to tell his kids about if they let him use the yellow car. He looks real familiar, but I cant place him.

I was in it too.

They shot some scenes in nearby Covington, Georgia where years later the TV show "In The Heat of the Night" was also filmed.

Anyhow, it was my honor to help a very old and frail Butterfly McQueen across the street and to safety. (Always the Boy Scout.)
