Wow. Very pathetic of them. What gave them the right to do that? And did anyone from NBC get fired because of it?
I imagine shows might do it all the time in unnoticeable ways. I normally watch Youtube videos at 1.25x speed, at which rate they're entirely watchable, but clearly faster than normal speed. However, speeding up a video at 1.1x speed is going to be much less noticeable, and will shave off 6 seconds per minute. This means at 1.1x speed, a 45-minute show could be reduced to about 40 mins 30 seconds. Would anyone notice?
