I must be the only one who found Judge Stone INFURIATING

God I hated this show - just got through 3 seasons with my parents and I can't take any more. I must be the only one who finds Judge Stone absolutely intolerable. I know he's a fictional character, but it really did not sit well with me how he flippantly took the law into his own hands (case in point: when he arrests Mac's grandfather for no legal reason, simply because he felt like he could force the grandfather to be nice to the wife, or whatever). I couldn't stand that self-righteous prick. And it's too bad, too, because I loved John Laroquette and Selma Diamond.

Probably. How does it feel to be alone in the world? 

If you knew the law, you'd know that a judge has a right to hold someone in contempt of court (arrest them) for no good reason at all. It is usually done when someone insults the judge/court, but can be done for other reasons as well.

If the judge is simply p!ssed off, once he (or she) cools off, they can release the person. Or, if the person cools off and apologizes, they can get released.

If there is nothing more going on, nothing about being held in contempt will show up on a person's record.

Gee, and here I thought that one reason the bigwigs had a problem with Harry was precisely because he wasn't the typical judicial 'self-righteous prick', but a dude who was too laid-back for their liking. Can't please everybody, I guess .

Loved the hell out of this show back in the day because it was so damn weird, plus all the crazy, eccentric, offbeat characters on the show made it worth watching. It took me a minute to get used to the humor but it gradually grew/crept up on me like a fungus, lol. Glad it did. Not hard to see why it lasted so long, because it was a unique comedy classic in its own right. Loved the funky-as-hell theme song too. Very few shoes nowadays have memorable theme songs at all anymore. It comes on the digital channel Laughs now.

Also liked the judge---thought he was cute and the fact that he was a magician made him even more intriguing (and funny too.)
