Long live the Sandinista Revolution!

...is what many said back in '79. But then it all devolved into Daniel Ortega's dictatorship. However of course the Republican backed Contras were worse: Fascists of the Somoza regime. Then came the Iran-Contra affair led by Fascist Ollie North.
I did support the Sandinistas in the '80s until they lost the election in 1990. And when old Danny Boy visited NYC and spoke at Riverside Church yours truly was there reporting on it.
Then Ortega came back and ruled as a dictator...42 years later he's still in power.
Anyway somehow I missed this film, which takes place in Nicaragua in 1979. Interesting take on the war whores (i.e. journalists) there at the time.
