Pimp at party? Delroy Lindo?

I would have to imagine it has been asked before, or covered somewhere... but my internet sleuthing powers seem to be completely gone today or something. I just can't find my answer and it's driving me crazy.

In the party scene, the one Eddie Murphy's character throws with the people from the bar... At one point, it shows a woman doing a little strip dance where she gets topless. Directly after, it shows a pimp, and he says " Yeah, that's my girl, right over there," or something similar.

I have seen this movie countless times, and each time I have felt so sure that it's Delroy Lindo. I finally decided to try and find out. The role is not credited, though, and I can't find anything saying who that is, or any tie between the two.

Can any of you help me out here? It's really bugging me. XD I swear it looks just like him. The only thing I found at all was something on Delroy Lindo's IMDB forum where someone asked the same question back in 2006, but never got a reply.

It's not exactly a big or memorable role, but I sure was hoping to find something. I really appreciate any help.
Anyone?

I believe he is the guy that played the landlord off of coming to America Frankie Faison.

Where is Buckey and what has he had-Dolemite

reply

Strong resemblance but it is not him. And it's not Frankie Faison either.

Not sure anyone will see this but he looks and sounds like a young Robert Wisdom (The Wire, Barry). Wisdom's IMDB doesn't really begin until 1990 though, and Trading Places is 1983

It's him
