Lesley Ann Warren

Yes, Chris Atkins' body was the first thing that attracted me to this movie but what I discovered through repeat viewings is the superb performance by Lesley Ann Warren. Warren plays what could have been a fluffy and smarmy sex comedy totally straight and makes her character extremely believable...probably her best performance until VICTOR/VICTORIA.

Victor Victoria came out in 1982. This came out in 83.

Lesley Ann Warren is a fine actress who makes mediocre films like this extremely watchable, and it's hard not to be moved by her character no matter how thinly her role is written.

Lesley Anne Warren worked well with Alan Rudolph. Did Choose Me in '83 and Trixie much later on

Lesley Ann Warren is awesome and makes this movie work.

Yes, she was surprisingly good in this movie. You can really feel her pain and confusion when her husband starts to shut her out of his life. It's too bad that people think of this as 'the male stripper' movie, as that stuff accounts for about 10 minutes of it's running time. At it's center is a study of a troubled marriage, and Warren plays her part very well. I saw nothing fluffy or sleazy about the story.

I was very touched by the scene where she cries in the hotel room, with the Bryan Adams song playing in the background. She did make you care about her character.

I just re-watched this on YouTube some 30+ years after last seeing it. She looked mighty fine all dressed-up for the night at the strip club; she looked ripe for pipe!

She's always been underrated.
