One of the funniest movies I've ever seen!

This is the type of film I can watch over and over again. Some favorite scenes:

*) Monty & Joe Pesci's character in the truck with the wedding cake

*) Monty trying to lose weight & opening the refrigerator to hear the voicebox his daughter planted: "fatty fatty fatty..."

*) Monty trying to paint his model airplane while his daughter plays the violin

*) The overhead shot of the dancing wedding party crammed into that little square of backyard

*) The daughter's husband asking Monty if he can call him "Dad"

No, its not Shakespeare, but it really grows on you.

I heard Rodney's in a coma at the moment following his heart surgery--I wish him well!

Tarantina.....I'm with you! Easy Money is one of my favorite comedies if not overall movies of ALL time!

You definitely have some of the best moments mentioned here.....

oh God I love when he's trying to make the model airplane and he's getting all stressed out and he's shaking and holding the knife. Only Rodney can play off all the scenes in his own way!

Aside from the lines, scenarios, excellent supporting cast etc....is his hysterical manner, the constant twitching and nervousness! There IS no one else like him.

I will miss him tremendously! Here are just a FEW of the great lines from the movie.

"watch out for this guy, he'll buy you a beer then he'll squeeze the Schlitz of you"

"while I'm up here check my oil" him in the hospital hanging upside down after he got shot in the ass....

"how do you ever find your fly?" to the guy with the outfit with all the zippers....

"why don't you two put your heads together and make an ass out of yourselves" to the store clerk with the bald head dressed identically to the dummy with the bald head.....

3 more funny moments:
Monty crashing into Christmas tree
Monty using Holy water to take aspirin
Monty's "fake" handkerchief in tux

...R.I.P Rodney

"...Are we goin' to the track?"

Monty "my mother in law,for years i would'nt kiss her face i ended up kissing her ass!"

Monty "hey that isn't gone move around back there is it"(wedding cake in back of truck)

Nicky "No i got it wedged against the toilet"

Nicky "I'm so hungry i could eat the waitress"

Just few lines i can think of from this comedy classic.

I just saw the movie for the first time (it just finished on TV).

I thought one of the best scenes was in that boutique mall when he and Joe Pesci's character argue with the effeminate man and his mannequin. As they walk away:

[RD]: "Why don't you put your two heads together and make an ass out of yourselves."

reply

All those lines are great, plus Pesci asking if he can "lick the bride" figurine on the wedding cake. LOL

reply

Don't forget when Monty and Nicky are riding around looking for a restaurant. They pull up and park and all the lights go out. The sign on the door of the restaurant says "open 23 hours".
Another scene in the van with Monty and Nicky. They pickup the wedding cake. Nicky slams on brakes and the cake (along with the guys) are plastered to the winshield. Not so much funny as it was just a cool looking shot.
Definetly should be higher than 5.8 on IMDb.

I LOVE this movie! So many absolutely hilarious bits!

A short, stupid one that gets me every time... The arriving wedding party guests who trip on the busted brick walkway and fall into the bushes!

*LMAO just thinkin' about it!*

By far an underrated, comedy gem.

Some of my favorite scenes:

The very beginning when Monty is trying to leave before his mother-in-law gets there, the doorbell rings, he thinks it's Nicky and says (as he opens the door) "Nicky, its about time I don't want to see her (to the mother-in-laws face) fhaking moootther" then closes the door on her!

At the reading of the Will in Scrapleton's office, upon learning of the terms of the inheritance "I tell ya, I need a drink and a cigarette to think about this."

The entire wedding scene in the backyard, especially Monty's version of "Finniculi, Finicula."

The entire Monahan's scene when they are "browsing" and with the bald-headed clerk & matching mannequin, "one more word outta you, and he gets it!" OMG!

A shirt in a dark black-something he can wear 4 or 5 days in a row.

Who am I? I'm the guy who put the bathrooms in this place. No wonder it stinks!

Is this an odd or an end?

reply

"Well, call me when you're this many!"

Nicky in the bathroom trimming his armpit hair.

"Two a 'dos and a Youhoo..."

I love this movie.

reply

No, it's not Shakespeare, but it is as funny as hell. I also loved the voicebox in the refrigerator and LOVED Taylor Negron as Allison's greasy fiancee. He was too funny.

How do you know WE'RE not browsers? Maybe we're just half-browsers!

reply

This is easily one of my favorite comedies of all time. There are so many good lines to choose from (and I'm trying not to duplicate anybody here):

"Hey lady, if we buy an odd will you show us your end?"

Nick: Will you shake hands with this kid?
(Shakes hands)
Nick: Look at him!
Monty: If I look at him, I won't shake hands!

Belinda: Someday I'll be out of your life.
Monty: Well right now, get out of the bathroom.

"We are one big happy fleet!" - KN Singh

How about
"Come down! I am the man!"

reply

haha, or:

"Allison, I am bad! I am so bad! I am so bad I should be in detention!"

reply

When Monty and Nicky pick up the wedding cake and truck over the two old women.

Julio outside the bathroom window and the talking hedge.

reply

I haven't seen this movie in probably close to 20 years and I agree will all it's a funny movie, but How could you all miss (to me the classic line in the movie) "What do people do when they aren't getting loaded"

reply

"I don't know how to fall asleep. I know how to pass out."

Rose : "Who are you talking to ?"

Whatya playin', Mozart?

No, scales.

Scales huh? Never heard of him.

Hard to name a movie with more hysterical lines than Easy Money...a classic.

reply

Some of the best lines:

"Are those antiques?" "No, they're the customers"

"When you take over you'll let me fix the bathrooms here." . . Classic Dangerfield pause and sly grin . . . "They don't go to the bathroom here"

"You you look at you. You reek of tobacco smoke, your eyes are bloodshot, you can barely stand erect. " "Yeahhhh, nice to see you, too"

"Easy, pal, I ain't got no good side!"

"Twelve inches!" . . . "Boy, you're waaaayyy off"

"Oh Monty, have you ever seen a face like that?" "Nah. (If I did I'd remember it)"

"He's got my eyes" "He's got my nose" . . "He's got my sympathy"

reply

Oh, look! Mr Bunny dropped his carrots!

reply

The scene I like the best is after Monty gets shot in the butt and he's in the hospital hanging by that wire contraption, they go and roll the bed out from under him so he's swinging around...with black socks on. That scene and when the guy spills it on the brick walkway at the reception - "It's been like this for months!".

reply

Rodney Dangerfield was soooooooo funny!!!! He'll be missed. The parts I liked best were when he told his mother-in-law after she stated all his faults, "Oh yeah. Well you were the inspiration for twin beds." I also liked the part where he met his new neighbor, and while he was with his youngest daughter, the neighbor tried to sell him some cocaine.

reply

Monty: What's that word for when you can't say "no"?
Nicky: Sonya?

reply

Truly one of the most underrated comedies of all time.

One of my favorite lines comes when Monty first sees Clive's 2 assitants, the identical twins that are dressed exactly the same:

Monty - "Where'd you find these guys? Noah's ark?"

reply

This is easily one of the most underrated and overlooked comedies ever ! I absolutely love it, but half the people I mention it to haven't even heard of it. And then, look at its rating on IMDB : 5.8 ! Are you kidding me ?!?! Compare that to a couple other recent comedies on here :

Superbad : 7.8
Knocked Up : 7.8

You've gotta be kidding me ! Neither one of those flicks even come close to being as funny as Easy Money !

That cyrano scene alone made me laugh more than either of those movies put together !

reply

I am surprised at the high rating of 'Knocked Up'.

I totally agree. I laughed a lot.

reply

I agree. This film is an absolute riot. The final gag in particular is a priceless gem.

"We're all part Shatner/And part James Dean/Part Warren Oates/And Steven McQueen"

reply

This movie is by far one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. It is NEVER ON anywhere though so people today have never seen it.

reply

When they're about to introduce him as the guy who designed the Common Guy clothes his youngest daughter pulls on her collar just like Rodney does in his standup routines.
