all the elements and aspects of this film are very professional. i loved it and i think the lead actor may have played both roles of the brothers. thats incredible acting and he pulled it off very well. this is a classic and should have a special editon release with commentaries, featurettes, retrospective interviews and an isolated score track.

highly recommended.

This movie reminded me why i hate '80s 'slashers' so much [ And yes, i watched the all-the-gore-intact Blood Rage VHS ]. I seriously don't get the appeal factor here. Why not watch a good Giallo instead of this laugh-fest?

Maybe we don't want to watch a Giallo because we're in the mood for cheesy American slasher films. Don't get me wrong, Giallo's are far more superior in filmmaking compared to many slasher films, but in my opinion, they're more fun.

If you hate 80's slashers so much, then why watch it?

Because not all of us are horror-snobs(and yes I say snob because you're assuming the OP doesn't watch Giallo because he enjoys Blood Rage) and can enjoy more than one type of horror film. Just because some of us do enjoy these kinds of films doesn't mean we don't or can't enjoy Giallo. Not all of us are close-minded horror viewers, some of us can get as much enjoyment out of a cheesy slasher as we can out of a horror film that's considered a classic.

A Giallo is good in its own way, like this movie is good in its own way.

I agree that this is an excellent 80s slasher film, up there with Friday the 13th parts 1 and 2, and all the other more well known films. Its an unfairly overlooked movie with excellent gore. A must see for horror fans.
