Worst Cheech and Chong movie I've seen yet.

Pure and simple. I felt a handful of scenes dragged on for so long I thought I was about to change the channel, but I stuck it out. I was disapointed.

I enjoyed this one on first watch, but whatever you do.. don't watch the next one where to go to Amsterdam

I enjoyed mainly the first part of this movie. The first half was pretty darn good.
Pity the ending goes a bit towards mediocre.

I should have enjoyed this with a reefer................man.

"Things Are Tough All Over" isn't close to being the best C&C movie but not quite the worst ive seen, now "The Corsican Brothers", i haven't seen that one since probably 20 years ago and it's so bad i don't have the nerve to see it again.

reply

Agreed

reply

Yeah, the Corsican Brothers is THE worst C&C movie.

reply

This isn't quite the worst Cheech and Chong film, but it's far from the best. Still, it's very entertaining, almost avant garde in its stupidity.

reply

the classic one obviously is up in smoke, and as hilarious and entertaining as it was, things are tough all over imo is right up there with it. then again, next movie was pretty good too! still smokin sucked, nice dreams was a bit unusual, tho it did have it moments, and i have not yet seen the corsican brothers, so i cannot comment on that one. from what ive read on it tho, i doubt i will even bother.

It's unexplanitory how I getz wicked, but it's mandatory that I kick it!

reply

Skip it, "The Corsican Brothers" sucks.

I would call this probably the 4th best. After UP IN SMOKE, NEXT MOVIE, and STILL SMOKIN'.

Still smokin had a few funny scenes but overall it was a crappy movie. The only clasic C+C flicks in my book are Up In Smoke, Next Movie, and Nice Dreams. Things are tough all over is probably 4th best after my first 3.

Definately avoid Corsican Brothers whatever you do though!

STILL SMOKIN' was probably the first one I saw, or at least the first I remember sitting through. Think I saw a little bit of NEXT MOVIE on TV years earlier. The ending I think.

I've been watching these movies all week. Watch THINGS ARE TOUGH ALL OVER tonight, and tomorrow THE CORSICAN BROTHERS. Never really sat down and watch that documentary thing they made.

Admittedly, I found myself more irritated than amused by this movie. I probably will enjoy it better on a second viewing. During this viewing I found the antics just too stupid. "Things Are Tough All Over" was a Cheech and Chong misfire. Hey, it happens.

Sure, it could have been edited better. Still, it's still a lot better than "The Corsican Brothers."

I don't mind THE CORSICAN BROTHERS and find it quite funny. TATAO, is more in the style of UP IN SMOKE-78'—my favourite—and I find the humour and direction more consistent than NEXT MOVIE-80' or NICE DREAMS-81', and if they hadn't toned down the drug aspect and\or made it a bit raunchier, it might have been more of a cult C&C classic.

I had some friends who introduced me to C&C's Up In Smoke', Next Movie' and Nice Dreams' in the early 90's. I had seen STILL SMOKIN-83', which I didn't really enjoy and would say it is my least favourite, and YELLOWBEARD-83' and CORSICAN BROTHERS, which I did. When I mentioned if they had seen ...TOUGH ALL OVER, they hadn't even heard of it. It mustn't have been what C&C fans expected or anticipated and word of mouth was slack. It's a pity, because while very silly, it is also very funny in parts. I loved the red carpet scene at the airport.

I thought Things Are Tough All Over was a pretty good Cheech & Chong film, I liked it better than the better known "Nice Dreams" as a matter of fact, I feel this film gets overlooked by the far interior Still Smokin and Corsician Brothers.

reply

WOW...THAT IS A BOLD OPINION...I DON'T AGREE...BUT I RESPECT YOU AND YOUR OPINION.

reply

What bold opinion? Me liking Things Are Tough All Over better than Nice Dreams?

reply

SHORT AND SIMPLE...YES...FROM MY EXPERIENCE THINGS ARE TOUGH ALL OVER IS MUCH LESSER KNOWN AND LIKED...YOU SEEM TO BE SAYING YOU PREFER IT TO NICE DREAMS,CORSICAN BROS,AND STILL SMOKIN...I BELIEVE THAT TO BE A HOT TAKE...THUS MY COMMENT...NO OFFENSE INTENDED IN ANY WAY.
