I would cut off a finger for a decent DVD release. My VHS is getting pretty worn. Alas, like the Six Million Dollar Man, it's still conspicuously absent from the DVD catalog.

reply

Six Million Dollar Man is tied up in the U.S. due to rights issues with Martin Caidin and Universal. Don't know what the deal is with FOX and Hal Needham. Maybe it was such a huge financial disaster that FOX would rather bury this film and don't see it making any money on DVD.

I have this on DVD, got it on ebay a few years back, while it looks and plays like a totaly legit copy it may well just be a dodgy transfer but still it makes me smile everytime i put it on

I just got a DVD from Amazon and it was an official copy - not a knockoff. It appears to be available to anyone wanting to take a funny walk down 80's memory lane.

reply

A lot of the Amazon reviews mention sound issues (voices too high), and having to send their DVD in for a replacement. It makes buying a copy a bit scary because I don't want to plunk down the cash, get it and then find that it's defective and hope against hope that the company is still willing to send a replacement disc at this point.

Ditto. I recently bought a copy off of Ebay and it's a decent disc -- good video transfer, adequate audio, region-free, and 16x9 aspect ratio. There are no special features, closed-captioning, alternate languages, or sub-titling.

Six Actual......OUT!

Not sure if it is available in the States on DVD
but there is a Torrent file.
One could always download the file, then burn it to a DVD
