Season 2 was pretty damn awful

I remember growing up watching Season 1 of Knight Rider and sometime ago I got done watching it again, it was a joyous experience like back in the 90's. However, for the life of me, I can't really stand Season 2 too much because of how cringe, corny, cheesy and amateurish it is at times.

I'm currently on the double episode of "Goliath Returns" and that is so dreadfully boring. I can't believe they made it last as long as a feature film's length. Jeez.

Hope that Season 3 will be more like its original roots and Bonnie's back. April is a great looking gal but she's no Bonnie.

Well there were a number of episodes in Season 2 with Goliath and/or Garthe. And I agree, they were overdone and boring.

But I did enjoy the other Season 2 episodes.

I disagree. Season 1 definitely had more corny episodes than season 2. Nothing could ever possibly get cornier than "Trust Doesn't Rust". Now THAT was a painful experience to get through. I know it's sacrilege to say anything bad about a KARR episode but that episode was the pits! Yes I liked it as a kid but watching it as a grown up it's cheesy as hell! And I actually love season 3's "KITT vs KARR" where KARR is actually a cold and ruthless calculating evil presence. Unlike in "Trust" where he's a complete and utter buffoon being "schooled" about life by 2 bumbling crooks.  Sheesh!

So yes after that episode things could only get better and they certainly did.

Connery, Moore, and Brosnan! Accept NO substitutes!

Hey in Kitt vs KARR how did KARR start all black and by the end of the episode he had a silver bottom half? Did they even bother to explain that?

Oh and who puts the CPU behind the front grille?

reply

When the show entered syndication, some scenes were cut to make way for more commercials.

There is a scene where KARR explains he wants to alter his appearance.

The episode is complete with this scene on the DVD. At least on the original DVD set.

You seem to have a real problem with the

__ GREATEST __

episode of the whole show, you seem to want to just bash it over and over.

This only proves you have no taste and your opinion shouldn't be trusted (no pun intended).

'Trust Doesn't Rust' has some of the GREATEST moments of the whole show. It's much less cheesy than SO many other episodes. I don't understand your problem with it - perhaps you liked it as a kid and then felt embarrassed at liking something like that and now have to overcompensate by trying to smear and bash it as much as you can?

I don't know, but it seems like you have a real vendetta against that wonderful episode.

'Trust Doesn't Rust' is MUCH better than the cheesy and corny 'K.I.T.T. vs. K.A.R.R.' (even the TITLE is much better thought out and actually clever).

The musics, the atmospheres, and the whole scene where the hobos invade the lab are incredibly good in this episode - sure, it has its silly moments, like the diamond heist, where the guards just weirdly and robotically move to a place where they are easily trapped, but it's excusable, as how the heck would you attack human beings with a car - can't be done, as human being has much tighter turning angle than a car, and a lot more flexibility.

This episode has Optimus Prime's voice actor delivering superbly fantastic, hilarious and fun lines in a greatly arrogant way - brilliant! This episode has a real feeling of 'threat' and 'menace' about it - the concept is great, a car JUST as powerful and indestructible as K.I.T.T., but out of control.. a duel of sorts.

A much better idea than Goliath and Garth, mind you.

This episode is philosophical, it's about something interesting instead of the 'environmentalist politics' or 'crooked cops' or some 'biker gans' or 'save the farm' or 'win a race' or 'become a circus staff member'.

I can't believe you choose _THIS_, the most atmospheric, the best storyline, the most menacing threat, etc. to bash out of everything!

'Trust Doesn't Rust' is like the best possible episode to show someone that has never seen the show, it's the epitome of what Knight Rider is all about, it has the best action, most beautiful twin-pontiac chases, the most amazing, mysterious and threatening moments (the lab, K.A.R.R. spying on the 'bad guys' and making its own decisions, Bonnie trying to escape/sabotage K.A.R.R., and did i mention the awesome chase sequences?)..

I can't do anything but shake my head, how anyone can bash this brilliant episode.. it's beyond my capability of understanding. Sure, people have different opinions, but this is to Knight Rider what Back to the Future is to movies - it's something I would choose to show a visiting E.T. to give a taste of this show, just as I would show Back to the Future to give a taste of what movies can be.

Just tell me you hate Back to the Future, too, and think it's the worst movie ever, then everything makes sense.

Don't listen to this non-capitalized name with numbers at the end - "ringfire211"? What kind of name is THAT? - watch the episode by yourself, and enjoy the exquisite, fun and exciting moments!

(It also has a unique 'K.A.R.R.-theme' that I really like, you never hear that song anywhere else - it's actiony, but yet threatening, and still energetic and fun, but you still hear from the song that something menacing is going on)

I also love K.A.R.R.'s personality, it's so arrogant, and yet so childish, and yet -fish-out-of-the-water- but yet powerful and knows what it wants.

The underwhelming, lackluster sequel's 'K.A.R.R.' is just some boring old man that wants to torture some young adults - boring.

The original K.A.R.R. knows what it wants and how to get it, and is a real threat, menace, and his introduction could NOT be more perfect - and the conclusion of the episode also couldn't be more atmospheric and philosophical - thinking about K.I.T.T. alone in the truck pondering about life and philosophy just sends chills to my spine.

I think I found the reason you want to bash that excellent episode - heck, it's the FIRST time we ever see K.A.R.R., the most interesting villain in the whole Knight Rider saga, and somehow it's not good enough for you?

There's a RINGMASTER in that episode, and you, being a 'ringfire211', can't stand having a master tell you what to do (or something)..

Maybe a psychological effect, but still - you are _NOT_ being fair to the episode at all, as it IS the best episode of the whole show. I can't understand why you bash on it out of ALL the cheesy crap you see in season 4, or the cringe April introduces in season two.

You're either being completely unfair, or you just don't have any sense about TV shows.
