Would you rather be Cliff or Woody?

I would have to go with Woody. Even though he was as dumb as a doorknob, he was still somewhat of a ladies man. Maybe not at Sam's level, but still a great catch. Take the episode 'Cliffie's Big Score' for example. When Diane arrived in her beautiful attire, Woody said, "You look like a hundred bucks." Naturally, Diane took his compliment in stride and had a look on her face as if she knew Woody was going to say something dumb, as if to say "That's our Woody." But I can't help but to think how attractive Diane seemed to perceive Woody in the sense that if he wasn't so dumb, she might date him. It's as if the fact that Woody was handsome and dumb at the same time was adorable to her. And keep in mind that Woody was just being himself, whereas Cliff was a know-it-all jackass. Which brings me to my point. Diane was his date for the Postman Ball, but only out of pity, as she, like many others at Cheers, find him somewhat repulsive.

I'm like Cliff in some regards, but eh. Woody was in better shape, so there's that.

Oh yeah, Woody just for who he had to go home to. Kelly was a beautiful woman.

Woody. He gets Kelly. Would anyone really want to be Cliff?

I know! Is this even a serious question? Woody was young, handsome, athletic, and well-liked. Cliff was none of those things and had a very uncomfortable relationship with his mother (not to mention a father who deserted him). All he had was a job that he loved, which is great because most people don't, but Woody also loved his job, so in regards to that it's a wash. Woody also ended up with a kind, thoughtful, and beautiful wife. Cliff ended up alone and could barely bring himself to be intimate with a woman.

But to a point the OP mentioned: I never thought Diane ever considered dating Woody. She had a young, handsome man after her once, but she felt the relationship to be inappropriate. Sure, she was using Lance to make Sam jealous, but she admitted she had reservations about it.

Cliff. I never cared much for Woody but I liked Cliff even though he was snarky.

Cliff was smarter, but was mocked behind his back, even by his so-called friends, for being a blowhard know-it-all. Also, he was middle-aged but lived with his mother.

Woody was dumb, but smart enough to get by in life and make a living. He was honest, kind, loyal, and reliable. He was able to attract young women.

I'd have to say I'd rather be Woody.
