Hatch vs. Hilts

Hilts 'The Cooler King' was Steve McQueen's role in The Great Escape (1963).

Meh pretty harsh. Stallone is his own thing and McQueen's not really fit to lick Sly's boots either.

However. I agree.. Stallone Playing Hilts doesnt really work. I dont think Sly is good in Victory though. Hes got that Stallone intensity in terms of finding a way out. Similar in Escape Plan and Lockup.

I honestly cant see McQueen playing a role in any Stallone film. Possibly Driven. Possibly Get Carter if McQueen was in the character of Doc from The Getaway.

A young Mel Gibson MAYBE could have pulled off Hilts. Gibson could do that playful comedic stuff while still staying somewhat serious and rebellious. Stallone as Hilts doesnt work because he would go back to the camp and blow everything up while ripping the throats out of all the guards. Stallone might fit into Bronson's role though well enough.
