Stunning film with a towering performance from Klaus Maria Brandauer

It's not a easy watch as Hendrik Hoefgen is a bit of spineless selfish git, who twist his own values to claim the fame he desires, even betraying friends and his own loves and try to justify it. The Bit when the British critic went up to Hoefgen and slapped him, got a cheer from me as it's the first time he notices what he's doing isn't right.

But this film is worth it alone for Klaus Maria Brandauer's performance alone, he's amazing as Hoefgen and presents a egoistic, talented but moral wrong actor with every betrayal tries to trick himself into believing it was the right thing he's done. Bit deep down knows he's crossed the line for his lust for fame.

A Film well worth checking out.
