It's a really good movie, with a lot of soul. It would deserve a higher rating, IMO.

I gave it a 9. It was one of my favorites at the time it came out.
shareI just watched this film for the first time. I agree that it has soul, wit, and energy. But it has some dubious performances and it's rather overlong (perhaps I should try the European cut). And I can't help thinking that only half the fun they had making it translates onto the screen.

Well it's up to 6.4 since you wrote that in 2011. I am surprised it isn't lower, not because it's not good but because of all the 18 year old voters here who can't wait to trash anything 80's. This movie would seem an easy target for the haters, yet most of the posts here are quite positive. I have fond memories of this movie on VHS and look forward to watching it on blu ray soon. Cult classic movie, by Romero no less.
