Fun early 80s slasher

There’s a lot to like in Hospital Massacre! The hospital setting is immediately a tad unsettling, and the suspense mounts steadily. There are plenty of red herrings, and one really excellent jump scare. Ms. Benton isn’t the world’s greatest actress, but she gives it her all and comes across pretty well. (Even if you hate the movie you still get her examination scene.)

Hospital Massacre is emblematic of late 70s/early 80s slashers. The “why” is laid out in the prologue, then it’s up to the viewer to figure out the “who”. This one isn’t the greatest, but it’s better than most.
