Slightly OT: Kick-ass "Part 2's" of franchises that sucked after part 2

It seems to be the way of great horror movies. I was going through my horror collection and made the observation, many awesome horror flicks had kick-ass part 2 sequels and then just totally went to shit.

Friday the 13th Part 2
Damien: Omen 2
Jaws 2 (some call it horror)
Hostel 2
Halloween 2
A Nightmare on Elm Street 2 (3 was pretty kick ass but that's where Freddy started to become more comical)
Wrong Turn 2: Dead End (although #4 kicked me in the nuts quite nicely, but still went on to tank out)

Those were just off the top of my head. Anyone agree that sequels should just stop at 2?
