Deleted Scene of the "Prostitute"

Someone pointed out in the message board that the prostitute at London when Charles was looking for Sarah, was not Sarah. And that it was of an actress whose scene was deleted. I was wondering if anyone could point out what happened in that deleted scene? I'm just curious.

I'm not sure if there was a further scene that was deleted but on my copy we see Charles trawling through the shadows looking for Sarah at night. He notices a woman dressed in a similar cloak who turns her face away like Sarah did on the cobbs that day. She walks away slowly and he follows her. In the smokey streets she does resemble Sarah and it seems to me she is coaxing him to follow her as she keeps turning to look at him. Only when he gets close does he realise it isn't Sarah and he goes to walk away but for some reason he has a change of heart, turns around and nods before the pair disappear down a darkened alley presumably for business.

Whether he pitied her and didn't want to reject her or whether he just fantasised about it being Sarah I couldn't say. But a lot is left to the audience's discretion in this story. Well the movie version certainly. I haven't checked the credits as yet. either on here or on my disc. I have no special features either to see if there were any deleted scenes. But that prostitute definitely featured on my copy.

Just looked at the credits and the prostitute is credited.

The prostitute was not Streep. In the book, the night he goes to his club and gets wasted with his two buddies, they go out to some kind of saloon/whore house, then he meets a young prostitute on the street and goes home with her. When they're about to do it, he barfs in her bed so the act is never consummated. He gets dressed and leaves, handing her some money.
