OMG I cried so hard !!!

I used to watch this movie when I was little and I saw it the other night and I couldn't help crying. I'm 17 and I rarely cry at a movie, but when the old lady left the fox in the forrest, it was so saddd. Anyone feel the same way ??

I just finished watching it & my eyes watered at that very same part & I'm 25, haha! The ending is also very moving when you hear Copper & Tod's voices when they were kids saying they were going to be friends forever.

I cried at both of those parts: the end with the voice-over, and li'l Todd's abandonment. :'(

I'm 19 and I still cry during this movie but I also get teary eyed at the end of The Little Mermaid. Why are Disney movies so freakin' sad!!

I'm sixteen, and I bawl my eyes out every time. And I agree-even thinking about it kills me.

OK, I looked through the list and believe at age 43 I am certainly the oldest tear-maker of this bunch. I first saw this film in 1987, and in 1996 got a Golden Retriever puppy and named him "Copper". Two years later I was given a mutt puppy and you guessed it...named him "Tod". Both recently passed away, and you can imagine how tough it is for me to keep a dry eye now when watching this one.

PS I thought Fox and and the Hound 2 was poorly done. Leave the classics alone.

NO, NO, NO! *I* cry harder than all of you and I'm 46. Yes, 46. When I first watched this movie when it came out with my niece and nephew when they were little, and I'd start crying when Tod got left in the forest, they would look at me, roll their eyes, and "gah, AJ, are you cryin' again????"

I swear sometimes I think the brutality in some Disney movies goes right over the heads of the target audience and that's probably a good thing.

Well, I'm 30 years old and was roughly 3-4 when this came out and I saw it for the first time. It was my favorite movie then ... and it's still one of my favorites (for different reasons than 27 years ago) and is probably by far my favorite animated movie. It's amazing how one gets older and sees how true much of the film is. I don't cry at movies ... but this is a good one.

I felt sad but I barely ever cry.

God, Who?

reply

Yeah I always bawl my eyes out.

I've been watching this film since I was 2, and I've always cried in the scene where the old lady drops Tod off in the woods. It's so sad!

I cried even when I was a little kid. I'd have to pause the move to collect myself so I could keep watching. I'm 17 now and just the thought of it makes me cry. The "Goodbye May Seem Forever" scene is heartbreaking. It's just so sad.

reply

Exactly the same with me. I remembered this movie since I watched it when I was like, 6 or something, and loved it, but most of remembered it was so sad, and so powerful. So I watched it again today, now in college, to recall again why it's so great.

yes i almost cried when i was watching that. :( When he was all alone in the forest in the rain that was sad too. :*(

reply

Yup, the tears always end up flowing freely down my face whenever I watch this movie - especially at the scene where the widow leaves Tod in the forest. I know the music makes it worse, too. Ugh, I'm nearly crying again just thinking about it!

Glad there are others like me out there.

I saw this movies when I was 4... I cried and never felt so depressed about anything (at the time) in my life... (again, at the time)
I vowed never to watch it again.

I'm 21 now and I still refuse to watch this. It's such a great movie and yet I can never bring myeslf to watch it.

so true! lol.
even my dad cried during this movie!

Me too :*( So so sad, has to one of the saddest scenes ever in a movie

My dog Flossy died the beginning of February, she will always be the bestest friend i ever had, it just makes me cry harder at that part because in a way it reminds me of my dog Flo.

It's always sad when you have to let friends go even whejn yuo know they'll always be in your heart, it's still not the same as having them there and thats what's sad but yes this scene the tears just Flo and i get that horrible ache in the back of my throat too....

To me it is one of the saddest scenes I have ever seen, but also one of the best.

God I miss the times when Disney made brilliant movies like this...

I absolutely adore this movie. I didn't watch it for a few years and couldn't remember why. After I watched it, I realized I went through dry spells because I needed time to hydrate haha. I start bawling whenever they first say "Copper, you're my best friend." I finished watching it half an hour ago and I'm still crying haha.
