OK, the film is a poor representation of the very good novel but I think this film is worth watching for the sheer perfection and physical beauty of Brooke Shields at that time. It is very easy to believe that any male would fall madly in love with someone with such an exquisitely perfect face as she had then. In another thread someone described her as being so beautiful that her mother said she was a piece of Art and I agree.
Yes, I agree. Brooke was her most beautiful from the ages of 12-17. She was really beautiful in Blue Lagoon also.
I think Elizabeth Taylor would probally be the second most beautiful woman ever.

Brooke's face at about 14 or 15 is pure perfection. Her hair is gorgeous also. Her beauty peaked in her teens. There has never been anyone more beautiful in the world than her and probally will never be.

Agreed. I was lucky enough to know Brooke during those early years, and, in person, her looks were so incredible, almost a distraction. As a young boy, I never saw anything or anyone like that. To see something that incredible (as in her face) was something I will never ever forget. Its hard to articulate, unless you experience a face like that. "Art" is a way of defining it, yet even her face was more beautiful than any piece of art I'd seen.
P.S. and I believe Endless Love (along with the Calvin Klein ads from that same time) was her physical peak. So, EL and those commercials are a fine depiction of what she was like back then.

I realize beauty is subjective ... but I personally think Brooke Shields (in her pre-teen/teen years) was about the most beautiful girl I've ever seen. Her facial features were perfect, complexion perfect ... I really cannot point out anything physical that was not beautiful on her at that age (in this movie and Blue Lagoon).

On the IMDb a poster In_theatres has a post in her section and Points Out that Brooke Shields has had 2 or 3 nose jobs since she was a young teenager.He shows before and after pictures and it's very clear. They showed this TMZ a few years ago to with a before and after picture of her at 16 and the present.And on other celebrity plastic surgery sites. Her original natural nose was a small pretty shaped nose she didn't need a nose job at all.
