Better than I thought it would be

Just finished watching this after DVRing it off TCM Underground. It's kind of slow, but the acting is better than usual for a cheap horror movie, and I liked the scenery and the dog. Unfortunately the monster puppet itself is laughably bad - a pity because the suggestions of the monster with roaring noises and glimpses of tentacle were very effective up until that point. Less would have been more here.
