Hi I'm watching Absolution right now on the Sky Channel MGM HD, and on the information box available by remote control it says that this movie is based on a true story. I thought that this was a work of fiction, amazing to think that this is based on actual events.

The script was originally written by Anthony Shaffer, the writer of "The Wicker Man," as a play called "Play With A Gypsy." If what you say is true, he obviously was inspired by a real-life happening. I say "inspired by" because anyone who's seen the movie knows this ain't no strict retelling of a true story.
