Whatever happened to the cast of season 8...?

'Days of Our Lives' producer Ken Corday has just given an interview that Leann Hunley is returning to her Emmy-winning role of Anna DiMera on the NBC soap opera. The program films five months ahead, which means she probably won’t return to the screen until December or January. She last played Anna from 2007 to 2010. Since that time she has starred in an independent film called BLISSFUL LIES in 2012 and she had a guest role on the sitcom ‘Raising Hope.’

So what have the rest of Leann’s former ‘Dynasty’ castmates been up to…?

John Forsythe..last TV appearance was as the lead in the sitcom ‘The Powers That Be’ in 1993. During the rest of the 90s, he did occasional voice work on TV. In the early 2000s, he was the voice of Charlie in two CHARLIE’S ANGELS movies. He passed away in 2010 at age 92.

Linda Evans…last screen role was a TV movie in 1997.

John James…most recent credit was a role on 'As the World Turns' in 2008.

Gordon Thomson…last TV appearance was on 'Days of Our Lives' in 2009. He’s been in a few web soaps in recent years but doubtful many have seen them.

Emma Samms…she was 8th billed in the action thriller VENDETTA in 2013. And she reprised her role as Holly on ‘General Hospital’ in 2015.

Jack Coleman…continues to work regularly on primetime TV. He has had featured and recurring roles on many series during the past ten years.

Michael Nader…last TV appearance was on ‘Cold Case’ in 2009. He reprised his role from ‘All My Children’ for the online reboot in 2013.

Heather Locklear…She had some regular series work back in 2013, then took a few years off. She returned in May 2016 with a role in a TV movie, where she was 12th-billed.

Terri Garber…had a recurring role on ‘As the World Turns’ from 2005 to 2010. Then she did some web series and most recently a science fiction horror TV movie in 2014.

James Healey…last television work was back in 1996. Not sure if he's still acting.

Christopher Allport…he worked consistently in television up to his death in 2008 at age 60.

Stephanie Dunnam..worked on TV up to 2008, then had a bit part in a movie in 2013.

Joan Collins..she’s been appearing on ‘The Royals’ TV series and also appears as herself in the ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS movie, which hits U.S. screens in a few days.

I'm pretty sure James Healey is still in prison for murder. I know after Dynasty he was on Santa Barbara, but went to prison after that.

reply

Was that in America or in another country? I vaguely recall something about that but thought it was a manslaughter charge and he was out.

reply

It was in the US. Healey didn't serve any prison time.

In 1993, Healey was convicted of assault with a deadly weapon, and sentenced to 200 hours of community service and three years probation upon suspension of a two-year state prison term.

'Dynasty' Actor, 2 Others Held in Attempted Murder : Crime: James Patrick Healy is arrested in connection with attack on sister's estranged husband.
February 07, 1993

James Patrick Healy, an actor who played roles in the television soap operas "Dynasty" and "Santa Barbara," was arrested early Saturday with his sister and a friend in connection with the attempted murder of his sister's estranged husband, authorities said.

Healy, 42, who portrayed the characters Derek Griffin in "Dynasty" and Sean Rowan in "Santa Barbara," allegedly forced his way into a Rosemead home with his sister and the friend shortly after midnight Friday and used a piece of glass to slash the throat of Jacob Benjamin Rivera, 42.

Deputies arrived and arrested Healy, his sister, Annemarie Rivera, 35, and an acquaintance, Henri Marechal, 39, as the trio was on top of the bloodied victim, said Deputy Britta Tubbs, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. On Friday evening, the spokeswoman said, Jacob Rivera had received threatening telephone calls from Annemarie Rivera, whom he is divorcing.

The suspects were booked on suspicion of attempted murder and were being held in lieu of $1 million bail each. Rivera was listed in fair condition at San Gabriel Valley Medical Center.

Thanks Robbie. He does have some screen credits after that, so he did keep acting for a while. Wonder what he's up to now.

reply

Haha, whoever wrote this article got Healy's roles mixed up!

Wow, he got lucky... or had a great lawyer. Sorry for the misinformation, thanks clarifying.

LOL, I noticed that. I guess they weren't a fan of Dynasty or Santa Barbara.

He was a handsome, sexy man. I recall Collins being not too happy with him when he joined the cast (according to her memoir); she said he didn't believe in personal hygiene and was rather very aloof with the other cast members when on the set. She was glad when they wrote him off the series.

Well, she seemed to really get into her sex scenes with him. He might have spurned her off the set and she never got over it.

Having just finished watching all of season 8, I have to say that he was perfect as Sean. He was handsome, edgy, unpredictable and all his scenes were memorable.

reply

Too bad he’s not a nice person in real life.

He moved back to Australia.
Moved in with his father in Reservoir, Melbourne, Victoria.

After his father died, no one knows where he went

If I asked you who killed their career the hardest during this back in the day primetime network hit you would guess this actress. Guaranteed. You would be wrong though. Oh, she did her fair share of things and displayed some truly awful behavior and impressive drug use. But, it pales in comparison to what her co-star managed to accomplish. Her co-star was already on double secret producer probation after basically trashing her former hit show and walking away from it while signed to a contract. Her departure crushed the show. When I say someone does coke 24/7, it is usually an exaggeration. Not this actress. When she was awake, she was snorting. Paycheck after paycheck went to coke. She partied every single night. This was one of the biggest shows on the air. She was in demand. There was nothing she couldn’t ask for and she did. And did. And did. She was a nightmare. One of the biggest shows of the decade and she was fired and had to watch someone replace her, playing the same character and cashing all those huge paychecks. Did our actress work again? A handful of one off things, but nothing else.
Primetime hit: ‘Dynasty"
Actress who killed their career hardest: Catherine Oxenberg
Co-star: Pamela Sue Martin
Replacement: Emma Samms
Former hit show: "The Nancy Drew Mysteries"
(the ABC program alternated each week between "The Nancy Drew Mysteries" and "The Hardy Boys Mysteries". In season two, the shows were merged and renamed "The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries", which led to Nancy's role being reduced. This frustrated Martin, who left the series as a result. Her final appearance as Nancy aired on January 1, 1978. Martin appeared in a cover pictorial in the July 1978 issue of Playboy magazine, with the headline "TV's Nancy Drew Undraped".)
