Why isn't it available to buy anywhere?

I stumbled upon this movie by chance at the library of all places and found it on dvd. I absolutely love it. I've tried finding it for sale but all I can find are people on amazon selling it for like 80.00-90.00 dollars. I just wonder why it isn't available en masse for the public, yet somehow my library had it on dvd.

Keep checking eBay. I got the DVD for $12.00. Had been checking on and off for several months.

I love this movie too. I don't like the so-called "lesbian" content, but it still has great significant meaning to me.

First it has Tim Curry in it.

Second, I saw it in 81 on Preview, a very early version of what will become cable television or paid programming.

Third, I was transitioning from high school to college. A very turmoil time in a young adult's life even in the best of situations.

The film's currently out of print on DVD, but if you can find it at some discount store, count yourself lucky.

V-H-S ?!??!!???!!!????!!!!?????!!!!! Snicker, Laugh-Laugh, Cough, Eye Roll, Throat Clear, and finally Head shook from left to right, and right to left. Repeat, Rinse, Dry...... then again and again till you use the new and improved movie viewing technology and experience. The Year: 1997 The Brand: Toshiba The Format: Digital Video Disc The Studio: Anchor Bay The Title: Times Square The Machine: Digital Video Disc Player aka- DVD Player Now see, I've just set it all up for you, now all you must do to realize Digital Video Disc (The Home Version) Movie Viewing Ecstacy would be to visit your local Electronics storefront, which can be found 'solo', or in a large Mall setting.

You have now arrived with the help of late 90's electronic technology, namely the Digital Video Disc Player, and its many, many unlimited children, the Digital Video Disc.

I'm quite honoured and extremely overjoyed to have had the priviledge to have brought you a much more established home viewed Movie watching experience. I'm sure there are/were many others that could have harkened unto the serious call of movie technology ignorance. I'm just glad to have had the opportunity to answer the call of duty first. God Bless

This has got to be the most disgustingly stupid comment I have ever read. What a dumb bitch you must be.."rolls eyes snickers sticks finger up fat ass then licks it..

Anchor Bay only licenses films for a brief window of time, and the second they're out of print resellers jack up the rates to astronomical heights. If you've got a region-free player, there's a German DVD which isn't hard to find at a more reasonable price. The cover is bizarre (two random girls who don't appear in the movie) and it boasts English and German audio. No idea what the quality's like. As for the VHS, in addition to being an obsolete format, the picture's overly dark and if the VCR's not stereo the sound sucks. Odd that the tape wasn't mono-compatible.

It's on TCM here is the States in high definition. But, the video is pretty jittery, like the film wasn't properly synced to the video recording. Too bad. This showing was through Studio Canal, so maybe they will get a good video release done sometime.

I luckily found it streaming online
