It's a relatively cute movie that would be better if it wasn't so dumbed down. It is basically aimed at about middle school aged audiences, and on that level it is cute. But it would be better if they had eliminated some of the more obviously buffoonish characters - for example, the big tall mentally retarded guy on the blue team, and the two overweight sorority girls who just giggle endlessly. Also, why make all of the members on the white team look and talk exactly the same? Yes, yes, they're "nerds." Do they have to be interchangeable?

Best movie EVER! And right back atcha, OP!

Funny story about this movie, in high school I liked watching movies at my house with a friend of mine, and she had this really bad habit of talking through every single movie I would suggest (I guess because she was bored), so once I put on Midnight Madness, and she was on the edge of her seat, MESMERIZED by it. I didn't hear a word out of her the entire movie, LOL! First and last time that happened.

Another funny story, my mom used to give me a hard time for watching this over and over, because she thought it was really stupid, and once she and I were watching Jeopardy together, and the final question ended up being something I LEARNED watching this movie (it was something having to do with LAX = initials for LA International Airport). When I knew the answer and my mom didn't, I got to rub it in her face it was Midnight Madness that gave me the answer! Boo-ya! ;)

I saw it in the theater when I was ten. Me and my friends had intended to see the movie Hero At Large with John Ritter but that movie was sold out, so we saw Midnight Madness. I'm so happy that happened. I still have never seen Hero At Large.

I grew up watching this film on HBO in the early 1980's. It's such a fun and good-natured movie.
