Knife Through the Seat
I saw this as a young kid and spent years not leaning back in seats when going to the movie theater. It’s funny because it’s the only scene I remember from the movie.

First it fakes you out by making you think you're watching the opening kill only for it to be revealed it's just a movie within a movie. I think some other films have done this before but their titles allude me.
Then the whole stabbed in a theatre scene as the true opening kill is brilliant. Scream 2 (1997) ripped this off. Here I've been giving Scream 2 credit for it's brilliant opening scene only to now learn someone else did pretty much the exact same thing 17 years prior.
