In 1990, Harrison Ford wore a very severe butch haircut as a prosectuor in Presumed Innocent and evidently got a lot of fan mail AGAINST it. His hair had been near butch in Blade Runner, too, but this was after Ford was established as a romantic lead.
Meanwhile: Fluffed and coiffed and perfect looking Robert Redford sure made for a cute convict in Brubraker. Looked like a movie star. Helped the box office.
