Your favorite WW2 films?

- The Big Red One (Reconstruction)
- Cross of Iron
- When Trumpets Fade
- A Bridge Too Far
- Saving Private Ryan (mostly for it's technical merit)
- The Thin Red Line

These are ones that I go back frequently to watch. Although I have yet to see Stalingrad, I've heard good things about that film as well.

I'd have to add 'Fury' - amazing special fx, showing us a side of war no other movie has (daily life in constant danger as a tanker), & who knew Brad Pitt can act!
The upcoming 'Dunkirk', 'Battle of Britain', & 'Pegasus Bridge' look promising too.

Kelly's Heroes
Midway
The Big Red One
Battle of Britain
The Dirty Dozen
A Bridge Too Far
U-571
Saving Private Ryan (Mostly for the opening scene)
The Great Escape
Fury
Downfall
Das Boot
Where Eagles Dare
Battle of the Bulge (It's my least favorite of my list)

I think The Thin Red Line is the dumbest World War II movie of all time. Can't stand it. Lots of big name actors for such a terrible movie.
