Only aspect I found annoying about the movie was Johnny Henshaw-Jacobs!

I found the character of Stepehen Stucker so irritating in an otherwise excellent comedy.

Why so Serious ?

reply

I actually found him quite funny, but I can totally understand if others would find him annoying.

reply

"Hey Johnny, how about some coffee?"

"No thanks!"

How can anyone not like Stephen Stucker?!

reply

Matter of choice but the style of comedy in this movie was different, not over the top slapstick type, typical Leslie humor, JHJ just didn't fit in for me.

reply

SS was the weak link because he tried too hard to be funny. I wish that John Waters had played his character instead.

reply

Well, I found him annoying too. But I think it's just because I'm not a native English speaker. Maybe I didn't understand his jokes.

reply

There was nothing to understand, it was slapstick style over the top comedy by him, might have been funny If all other characters and movie belonged to that genre, for the type of hilarious humor Airplane had, he kinda annoyed me.

coffee jokes were funny. otherwise, he's a clown in a film where the comedy derives from the seriousness of the actors. but i guess having one such character adds to the silliness of the whole thing.

reply

It's kind of like the reverse to what happened with Eric Stoltz during the making of Back to the Future. He was the serious one and everyone else was silly...except for the actress who played his girlfriend.
