Who did you want to win?

Throughout the entire movie, I wanted Kenny, Jeff & Lisa to win. I don't know why, I just had a good feeling about them. What about the rest of you?

reply

Well, I always did want Cloris Leachman's team to win. Yeah, they were the villains, but they seemed to be trying the hardest.

The rest of the teams played stupid. They'd spend hours and hours just going after one item. I mean, why spend an hour stealing a toilet from a high-class joint when you could just buy a new one at Home Depot in under ten minutes?

And, as awful as it seems, the best place to get items is to steal them from other teams. That's why there are pens set up in the yard. Anything in the pen cannot be stolen. That obviously implies that anything outside the pen can and should be stolen.

reply

About the buying from home depot thing, It's specifically mentioned that the items could be required in any way except by purpose, meaning you couldn't buy any of the items, just pointing that out.

reply

Yeah, but who is ever going to know that you bought a toilet at Home Depot? It's not like a monitor rode along with all the teams. Besides, you could always say that you stole it from Home Depot.

And, it also depends on how technical you want to get about purchasing things. Stuart simply got the safe from his office. I assumed he purchased that safe at some point. Also, Stuart's team paid some thugs to get additional items. In effect, the team purchased those items.

The "purchase" rule is completely unenforcable.

reply

Hey...I was hoping you guys could help me out. I just want to check and see if this is a movie I remember from when I was little. In this movie, are the teams identified by colors? Going around in a van, on motorcycles and such? I just remember that movie being something about a scavenger hunt and dont remember much else about it. Could someone let me know if this is the movie? If it's not, does anyone know what movie I'm talking about?

Darocker:

Kinda sounds like Midnight Madness. It came out around the same time and co-stars a very young Michael J. Fox.

No, mine is in just the regular box. It just looks like the picture that's shown on IMDB. I got it on Ebay too and since I wasn't getting it for collector's purposes I didn't mind getting a new one since I knew I'd be watching it quite a bit. That movie is something that I remember quite fondly from my childhood. My whole family loves it and we still quote it to this day. Nerds, I know!! Oh yeah, the song...great!!! **When midnight madness starts to get to you. Doesn't matter what you say, doesn't matter what you do, you're gonna plaaaaaaaay!** And how 'bout the two girls roller skating through campus with their knee tube socks.

That's a good point about SH and the music rights.

Yeah, the taxi cab driver and Sam won me over, when the taxi cab driver dressed up like the mummy to scare everyone out of the museum so Sam could steal the suit of armor. That was hilarious!

The servants or Sam and Marvin

I wanted the servants to win! They rocked!

Professional Jayne Mansfield fanatic/loverâ„¢ since 1980.

reply

Yeah, I rooted for the servants, with Sam, "wearing MY suit of armor," and Marvin Dummits, "who can't possibly know why he's here," a close second.

reply

Yes I was glad that they won but you have to remember this that Jeffrey and Kenny and Lisa said that everyone with the exception of Mildred, Selson and Georgie get a share and those 3 however have an Indian thats gonna chase them and hunt them down forever.

So in general yes even though this movie is sort of like Its A Mad Mad Mad Mad World(that movie no one got the money), the right people in the nick of time did win and no one but those 3 villians ended up with nothing. In the end the estate belonged now to Jeffrey and Kenny and Lisa and Jackson and Babette and Henry and Jenkins yes still servants but since they were in 200 percent with Jeffrey and Kenny and Lisa about Mildred and Georgie and Selson stealing their stuff, they owned the estate too. But however Henry Motley and his kids got some money given to them and also Marvin and Sam and Merle and yes we can't leave out Duane or Kay either. Plus the ostrich owner got a small share too I am sure. But the ones still living at the estate are, Kenny Jeffrey Lisa and the servants.

In regard to whos related to Milton Parker, Mildred Carathers is his sister and her two husbands passed away. Georgie was her first born and Lisa was from her second marriage whose first wife passed away. Milton Parker yes had one daughter because Henry Mottley was his son inlaw whose wife also passed away. Those children were his grand children and Jeffrey and Kenny his nephews were late other sibling and spouses kids.

Plus I left out from the inheritance Jeffrey and Kenny and Lisa have to pay the damages that happened previosly in San Francisco which 1 million should cover.

reply

Kenny, Jeff and Lisa were the primary ones I routed for.
The servants were my second choice.
Tony Randell's character, along with Marvin Dumitz were my least favorite--barring Selsome, Georgie, and Mildred.
SPOILER ALERT
I loved the way this movie ended. You think the antagonists will win, then the writers brought back the suit of armor they buried in the middle of the film.
When Sam stands up in the armor, I remember the audience gasping and many whispering, 'Oh yeah!"

reply

Yes whom you routed for did win the money and the whole estate and that was Jeffery Kenny and Lisa and even the servents that teamed up with them too. Plus because of everybody that helped them in the end after the crooked thing of stealing that Mildred and Selson and Georgie did, Jeffrey and Kenny and Lisa gave everybody else there including other friends that helped a big share so everybody else did get a few million after all for helping them out in the end including Marvin Sam and Merle. However the only ones living on the estate are Kenny Jeffrey and Lisa and the servents with still their jobs but with large bank accounts in a big way.

The only ones suffering were Mildred and Selson and Georgie(who can't see anymore without his glasses) but they have to run for their lives from an Indian.

reply

Marvin and Sam, for sure. In all of these all star comedies I always root for the goofy ones.
It's A MAD, MAD, MAD, MAD WORLD - Mickey Rooney and Buddy Hackett
1941- Eddie Deezen and Murray Hamilton
Cannonball Run 2 - Tony Danza and the stuttering cowboy
Rat Race - Rowan Atkinson

reply

Kenny, Lisa and Jeff, but I was partial to the servants. I felt sorry for Tony Randalls clan because they weren't much of a factor and they were way behind

reply

I was rooting for the servants.
