Thank You OTE Fans - Michael Kramer

To all of you who care enough about the film to post: Thanks for all your support. The DVD, which looks great, would never have happened without you (problems with the audio and cover not withstanding). Since I've posted here once or twice, your response has been overwhelming. Like I said, I knew there were some fans of the movie out there, but I had no idea... Thanks again.

Answers to some of your questions:

1. Eric Lalich (Tip) was most certainly a boy, and a decent kid as I recall.
2. Matt Dillon says "Grow fins, turkey" as we throw Tip into the water.
3. To the best of my knowledge, Matt and Vincent Spano remained good friends after OTE. I know for certain that they were good friends while it was being filmed.
4. I'm not completely certain what all of the actors in the film are doing now, but based on what I've learned about myself on these pages (I am not a "youth counselor living in Pennsylvania," for example), the info you have is most likely incorrect. Don't know how these rumours get started...
5. I too would like to see the missing footage that is discussed in the DVD commentary. I remember shooting the footage and having a great time doing it, but I've never seen it on film.
Enjoy the film

why didn't you guys make a over the edge 2 what happns to the kids do they stay in reform camp or does richie who was shot comes back to break his friends and the others out because the audiance never seen richie get shot in the first movie it just showed the cop shooting the gun and you saw Richie fall down and I would of loved to be in a over the edge 2 I was born in 1991 so I never got to experiance the 70's and to me it's a big let down to not be born in the best time era and I could have seen myself as a part of your friendship because I grew up just like Richie and I loved the clothing and just the way people acted in the 70's SO PLEASE MAKE A OVER THE EDGE 2 WITH ME (jacob conners).

Hi, that's very cool you're actually connected here and participated on the message boards. I wonder if you still revisit this post, but regardless, I wanted to say that I re-watched "Over the Edge" just today for the second time, and the first time was on TV, and I was definitely too young for it (mid-late-80s) watching it alone at home, but I never knew what I'd seen until about a month ago, when I finally managed to figure it out with a bit of fancy detective work (Google)—a lot harder than it sounds, if you've got very few facts to go on (70s/80s movie, kids rioting, and.... nothing else, really) and somehow don't remember a very young Matt Dillon was in it. This was sort of nostalgic for me. While a bit dated, it's still kind of a strong movie, and I think a very good snapshot of the era.

Hundreds of those internet "movie parties we wish we attended" lists, right? They've always got, Animal House, Bachelor Party, The Hangover. All the safe choices. Do you know how many of those lists OTE has a place on?

Zero.

That's right. Goose egg. Zilch. Nada. Empty bowl.

Until now.
