How much did John Huston direct?

Does anyone know if John Huston actually directed any of this? If so, which scenes? I always thought the first 20 minutes of this film were really well done so I'm wondering if he directed the opening scenes (where Bronson confronts the Wally-cop about his dead girlfriend). Anyway, I've never heard one word about this so any "insider" info would be appreciated!

John Huston directed none of this film. He was going to direct but the investors thought it was too much of a medical risk. He ended up directing only one more film later.

I actually met him when we were still thinking he was going to do the project. A real force of nature.

His son Tony Huston did work on the project.

I was credited as a Production Supervisor but was the orginal Production Manager, and stayed on for the European shoot, and then the final US shoot in LA and Scottsdale.

Sorry to contradict you, but Huston directed SEVEN more films subsequent to this one.

Ok, cool. Thanks for the info! There is something about this film that is really weird. The beginning Arizona scenes with Bronson and the young cop are, IMHO, really well done. As are the scenes with Rod Steiger in his 'mafia fortress.' But the scenes that really drag are the ones shot in Europe. I guess that's why I thought maybe Huston had something to do with the beginning of the movie since it seemed really well paced, almost a different movie altogether.

Probably would have been even better with him directing.
