How did you hear of this film??

I have yet to see this and have found it uploaded on youtube. I cant wait to watch it, but how i came across it is really random. I was watching Flight of the Choncords, an HBO comedy show, just a little bit ago and there in this one scene this guy mentions Watership Down as being a film that "chicks love" and i figured it had to be some kid of inside joke. i've never heard of the film so i looked it up. I haven't been so intrigued by a film in ages and i really look forward to seeing it, although i have a feeling it will be very disturbing, especially since i love animals.

Saw it on HBO back in the late 70's or early 80's when we first got cable tv. I was 9 or 10.

Read the book when I was about 10/11 which was about 2002/2003, however I was watching the film before that. I found the scenes of the blood-field vision, General Woundwort, the wire/peg trap and of course, the destruction of the original warren, other than that though, I thought the film was fantastic even though, some of it was rather frightening.

My older brother gave me the book when I was 7. I think I first saw the film when I was about 10.
And I don't think it is correctly classified as a "children's movie." Maybe ages 9 or 10 and older, but not younger kids. Some kids will get it and some will have the bejesus scared out of them.

Read the book by Richard Adams as a child, then I heard of a film adaptation - saw it and loved it. The Art Garfunkel song "Bright Eyes" is my favourite on the soundtrack.

When I was 10, I read a scary children's book by Mary Downing Hahn called Wait Till Helen Comes, in which the main character is reading the book Watership Down. I've wanted to see it/read it ever since. So, over a decade later, I finally watched it last week. I loved it! The rabbit violence was shockingly traumatic but I thought it was a wonderful movie.

I watched it in the early days of HBO. It was first shown in the Spring of 1979, March, I think.. I still watch it in the spring as a reminder of watching it the first time.
