Best song in the movie

For me it`s More than a woman (by Tavares not the Bee Gees)

"Jive Talkin'" was on the soundtrack, but not in the movie.

I do like Tavaras' version of MTAW better than Bee Gees. The latter's was too syrupy.

Actually, Jive Talkin was not on the soundtrack originally. I had an LP of this I got from about 1979

The Calypso Breakdown song remains a mystery; I believe it was either in a cut scene or just removed altogether.

And "Emotion" needs to be on the soundtrack; it was the original ending song

What song is playing when they were horsing around on the bridge the first time.

I'm your daddy and what do I do?

That might have been Manhattan Skyline by David Shire.

"You Should Be Dancing" and Tavares' version of "More Than a Woman"

1. You Should Be Dancing
2. K-JEE - MFSB
3. Open Sesame - Kool and The Gang

My date left with someone else. I had fun. Do you have any Seconal?

Night Fever. Something about that song exudes 70's nightlife in NYC.
If I Can't Have You. Ditto.
Least favorite is Stayin Alive. Ugh! I can't stand that song. JMO.

I like the Tavares version but definitely - and exponentially - prefer the Bee Gees version.

My personal favorite song, though, is The Trammps' Disco Inferno. I was too young to have seen SNF in the theater but remember hearing DI in something else - another movie, a TV show - and loving it before even knowing what disco was.

Here are some of my favorites from Saturday Night Fever:

A Fifth Of Beethoven
Open Sesame
Salsation
K-Jee
How Deep Is Your Love

If I Cant Have You

is this Annette's song about her devotion to Tony?

is this Bobby'S song about his love of Tony?

could be read both ways...works perfectly

Calypso Breakdown by Ralph McDonald! Nah, just kidding! I listened carefully and could never find it anywhere in the movie.

reply

true Calypso Breakdown was never featured in the film...what I have always wanted is the music played when the gang drove into the hangout...excellent guitar solo playing lol...and what was playing during the scene in Bobby's car at the beginning on the movie?...right before Dr Disco played...

reply

Yes that was the one of the good song from the Soundtrack
